Belkin uses dye painting, embroidery, and textile collage to create abstract compositions that reference natural processes. Initially inspired by the stages of plant growth witnessed in her garden, her practice has expanded to explore broader biological and geological

phenomena. Her recent work examines optical effects associated with the water cycle, and she is beginning to explore the formation of geological strata. Belkin combines printed fabric, hand-dyed surfaces, and programmed machine embroidery to create layered textile

works that navigate between macro and micro perspectives, where landscapes, geological formations, microscopic organisms, and cellular structures become interconnected forms.

She has participated in residency programs in Wisconsin, New York, Vermont, Norway, Russia, and Estonia. In May 2024 she completed a residency at the Joan Mitchell Center in New Orleans. Recent solo exhibitions include shows at Hemphill Artworks in Washington DC, Dinner Gallery in New York City, and Ochi Gallery in Los Angeles. She is represented by Hemphill Artworks in Washington DC.
